There is sometimes some seating near the edge of the water to the right near the launch docks, but if you do not get there early enough, people will set up chairs and tents and it will be harder to see. At the finish line near the lane markers (at the causeway), there is plenty of room to see, but you do need to stay off the road and on a breezy day, there is nothing to protect you. There is a grassy area to the right of the finish line and before you go through the fisherman's gate that is a good place to watch the end of the race. There is room to put a chair down here.
The cost to get in the gate is $15 per person.
More about the Venue

EVSRA Chickahominy Riverfront Park
Depending on where our food tent is located (it looks like they have changed locations this year), we may or may not have a good view of the race. There is a good bit of walking around at this race so make sure you wear comfortable shoes. The best view for the finish line is on the bridge that you will cross over to get to the park. There is plenty of space to share. Some sit in chairs on the bridge and others choose to walk back and forth from the finish line to the exiting dock, to the boat trailer and food tent. Though there is the food tent, some families may not remember to bring anything to eat. There was a food truck in 2107. To Bring – Binoculars, cameras, chairs and if rainy, boots and umbrellas.
